About Me

Welcome to Weird Whimsical Art, where everyday odds and ends, nature’s treasures, and a little imagination collide to become something delightfully unexpected.

I’ve always loved the process of making things, especially with the most basic materials available—whether it’s baking a delicious pie using our first and only rhubarb crop of the year or taking a bunch of would-be trash and turning it into a planter or some other playful creation. If it can be reused, reimagined, or reshaped—I’m probably already sketching something out in my head. I love a root-to-stem, nose-to-tail approach to art — using every scrap and leftover bit to make something new… to an extent of course!

Living in the woods of Peru, in the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts, I’m surrounded by inspiration. Creatures—both real and invented—wander into my work, adding a little magic, mischief, and joy to the mix.

I studied Illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design, and along the way I’ve illustrated more than 15 children’s books. Storytelling is stitched into everything I make, whether it’s a functional planter with a peering eyeball, or a painting that invites you into a world where the imaginary feels right at home.

Weird. Whimsical. Sometimes useful. Always fun. That’s the spirit behind everything I do—and I’m so glad you’re here to explore it with me!
